Remember how much Sam loves spending time with old people? Well today he got that opportunity along with all his friends from preschool. His class, as well as all the other K4 and kindergarten classes, took a field trip to a nearby nursing home to sing their Christmas songs. I love to hear him sing the songs he learns at school. They are actually really cute songs, and although he never will sing them at home, he belts them out when his class gives a performance. He recently admitted to me that he doesn't sing them at home because he needs the music to remember the words and he's scared to be the only one singing. He certainly doesn't mind being the only one singing his rock star songs, however. Recently he's been rocking out to Jingle Bells. Tis the season to be a rock star.
Last night we finally got around to decorating our Christmas tree. Sam has been begging to do it for days, but Paul's been working too late to help. He finally came home at a reasonable hour last night so we could make time for our kickoff to the holidays. We turned on some Christmas music, got out all the decorations, and made some treats. Sam had so much fun looking at all the ornaments and finding spots for them.
Sam also loves to help me bake and no tree trimming party would be complete without a sweet treat. We made brownie pops, coated in white mint chocolate. Mmmm, mmmm good! Some of you who read this may or may not have the good fortune of receiving some of these little goodies. And yes, I know I look hot in my jammies. Don't hate.
