24 Crazy Nights 2016

Our Christmas season activities for 2016 were:

December 1st- Decorate the tree
Due to the fact that we were without power from the tornado the day before, we decorated with tree by the light of the one lamp we were able to plug into the generator.

December 2nd- Made paper snowflakes in preparation for our activity for day 3.

December 3rd- We used the kids' paper snowflakes to decorate a door for a Senior at the local nursing home.

December 4th- we may or may not have baked/delivered goodies. I have no record of it.
December 5th- Watched Mormon Messages

December 6th- Make a craft- Christmas melty bead creations.

December 7th- Fountain Inn Christmas Parade with friends and cousins.

After the parade, I stole some snuggles with my beautiful girl.

December 8th- Claire got to go to a Christmas themed Toddler Time at Chick Fil A where she and her friend, Brynn, made Rudolph ornaments and took home reindeer food to sprinkle on the lawn Christmas Eve. I loved Claire's confidence in her fashion statement.

Later that evening, the kids planted candy cane seeds, which will only grow by the light of the Christmas tree.

Their candy canes awaited them the next morning.

December 9th- Make 3D snowflakes- so cool!

December 10th- Attend gingerbread cookie decorating party at the Murray's home.

Later that evening, we attended our ward Christmas party, which included dinner and Santa!

December 11th- Simpsonville Christmas Parade with friends and cousins

December 12th- Was supposed to be sing carols and drink cider. It is possible we did this.
December 13th- Claire got to attend another Toddler Time, this time to paint a Christmas wreath.

December 14th- Claire came down with a stomach virus. But don't worry....

By December 15th, she had recovered. Thank heavens, because it was a busy day, including...

Nathanael's class Christmas party. Nathanael's 2nd grade teacher wasn't big on parental involvement, so I was lucky to even be invited to help. I was allowed to plan the snacks, so I did hot cocoa with candy canes, strawberries, red/green grapes, Christmas cookies, and peppermint popcorn.

I had gone into the class several days in advance to get the children's fingerprints on a ceramic plate so they could present her with a gift.

Later that evening, we went to downtown Fountain Inn to do our traditional carriage ride. Paul was out of town, so the kids and I met up with Mimi & Pop Pop and Robin & her kids.

There were a few people set up in the museum area demonstrating old timey crafts, and one lady invited Claire for a hands-on experience.

Of course Santa was downtown as well.

December 16th- Claire looked particularly precious all day long.

December 17th- Watch The Grinch and drink Grinch floats (Sprite and lime sherbert)

December 18th- With unseasonably warm temperatures, Claire took part in some water play before church.

Claire and Brynn donned their Christmas best.

December 19th- The wheels had fallen completely off the daily activity train by this point and we did the scheduled activities willy nilly.
December 20th- Festival of Trees Downtown Greenville with friends.

December 21st- Dollywood with cousins

December 22nd- Nate got a special invitation to go to the Christmas Lights house in Mauldin with Max and Tessa.

December 23rd- Mimi hosted the cousins for a birthday party for Jesus. She read them the Christmas story, had them paint snowflake ornaments, and had birthday cake.

December 24th- Traditional brunch in Honea Path with Grandma and Papa Washington.

Later that evening, back at home, the kids opened their Christmas Eve jammies.

And then, the elves, Peter, Buddy, and James, doorbell ditched their traditional Christmas Eve package. This year they dropped off new pillows and sheets for the kids.
