The first order of business in March was the Pinewood Derby. Who cares if you win or lose if everyone receives a candy prize in the end anyway?
It wasn't but about a week later that Claire got to go see another presentation at the Peace Center, this time with Mom, Tessa and Yaya.
The boys got a special day with Dad while the NCAA Tournament was in town. They got an early dismissal from school to go watch a couple of games: Arkansas vs Seton Hall and North Carolina vs Texas Southern.
Early in the month, the boys started taking piano lessons with the sweetest lady, Mrs. Pearl Barton. She is a saintly woman who teaches the boys much more than just how to play the piano. She teaches them Christian principles, hard work, discipline, dedication, and so much more, all with the patience of an angel. She lives out in the country and the kids love to swing on the tree swings, play on the homemade playgrounds, and see Pumpkin, the black cat.
Claire got to attend several fun Toddler Times which included making lollipop bouquets, decorating cupcakes, and making biscuits. We also threw in a trip to the art place, just for an extra dose of fun.
For St. Patrick's Day, we had a girl's day with Tessa, Brynn, Jillian, and Brielle, where we read leprechaun stories, finger-painted rainbows with a pot of gold, and mixed up a leprechaun mix snack.
And in between it all, a lot of just regular old life happened. The boys, spending most of their time each day at school, are lucky to make it into any photographs while they are awake. Claire, always my sidekick, got to help me shop and bake, clean and play, she worked on her makeup skills, started to learn to add with the aid of Cheerios, just like her oldest brother did many years earlier. But a lot of the time, we were just trying to hold it all together.
