January

It's hard to find the energy to blog anymore. So much to catch up on, so little time. But here goes...

January in pictures and a little commentary:

Nathanael sustained some sort of neck injury when his brother tackled him or in some other manner attacked him. Nathanael is known to milk things for as long as possible, so we never know what to think about his drama. But, when after a day or so, he was still holding his head to the side ALL OF THE TIME, Paul bought him a neck brace to prevent his from having a permanently tilted head.

At bedtime one evening, Nathanael announced he would put Claire to bed. He helped her into a robe, brushed her teeth, and read to her. Sometimes he does the darnedest things.

The dawn of these girls' favorite game. One evening they attempted a sleepover at our house, when they wore Claire's coordinating princess nightgowns. Tessa ended up wanting to go home after Claire fell asleep, but ever after, whenever Tessa would come over to play, they immediately put on pull-ups and nightgowns to pretend to go to bed.

Claire became a Sunbeam. How did that happen?? She has two really sweet teachers, Sister Edwards (who was her nursery leader) and Sister Barzee. She LOVES being a big Primary girl.

Ever the hunter and outdoorsman, Nathanael got a hunting blind for Christmas that he couldn't wait to try out. He has yet to have any success killing anything, but the boy loves the hunt.

Claire might not fully realize it, but she's living the life right now. We try to make it to toddler craft time, story time (her favorite part is catching bubbles), lunch with the boys on occasion, play time at gymnastics, and, of course, the gym most mornings.

One afternoon, when the boys got home from school, it snowed. It wasn't much, but it kept them home from school the next day. We had a party- made English muffin pizzas and drank hot chocolate. They played outside for a few minutes. I observed from the warmth of the indoors. I'm perfectly ok that there were no major snows this year. Cleaning up all their crap from their 15 minute jaunts outside is not my favorite part of winter.

Paul spent some time out of town and I let the kids sleep in my bed all they wanted to.

The dawn of Claire's obsession with tutus and ballerina attire.

I think she's the darn cutest and I adore her. Greatest little treasure ever given to this family.
