Claire continued to attend Chick-Fil-A toddler times. She was a bit skeptical of faux-Elsa.
Nathanael continued his hunting adventures. Ever unable to kill an animal, he has had to settle for targeting things that don't move. One afternoon adventure in the woods resulted in some greenery being shot down from a tree. He brought it home, found an empty vitamin bottle to display it in, and presented it to me as a token of his love.
February brought the longest mystery virus ever. All three of the children had it and it resulted in several doctor visits when the symptoms dragged on and mimicked strep and eventually turned into ear infections when the virus wouldn't just go away. It knocked Nathanael off his feet for a couple weeks. He didn't eat and became even more noodly than he typically is. Even the hot fudge sundae he got after his doctor appointment went barely touched. He was pitiful. But he still managed to leave a surprise photo shoot on my phone.
The best room mom ever, I handled Nathanael's class Valentine's Day activity. We read stories, made love bug crafts, and enjoyed cupid floats (cherry 7-up, vanilla ice cream, and a red licorice stick). One little girl in Nathanael's class, Gabby, has been obsessed with him all year. He does not enjoy her adoration at all. The poor girl is cute as a button...but a bit overbearing.
Tired of having to curl up with Claire in her toddler bed every night, we decided it was time for a big girl bed (which is still, at this point, just a full-sized mattress set on the floor). We had hoped it would help her to sleep through the night in her own bed, but at the very least, at least when I joined her in the middle of the night to get her back to sleep, I would actually have room to lay comfortably. Two months later, she still wakes up most nights.

Chick-Fil-A hosted a Daddy-Daughter date night. Claire was looking forward to it for weeks. Such a girly-girl, she was so excited to get dressed up and go on a date with Dad.
Dad and Sam went on an overnight field trip to Barrier Island. It was supposed to be 3 days, 2 nights, but due to "extreme weather" (just high winds and thunderstorms), the trip was postponed a day the night before they were supposed to drive down. Talk about a bunch of disappointed kids when they woke up ready to go the next morning! They crammed as much as they could into the time that was left and had a blast.
Sam finished up a great season of basketball with Simpsonville Rec. His team made it all the way to the championship game (which they won), but unfortunately, because Sam was in Barrier Island, he missed that most important game of the season! It was an awesome season anyway!
