Beach Bums

This past weekend, we had a wonderful family vacation to the beach. Thanks to my amazing brother-in-law and sister-in-law, we were able to stay in a cozy little beach house in Litchfield. This was Nathanael's first trip to the beach and Sam hasn't been since he was 2. Unfortunately, most of my pictures were ruined by my piece-o-crap camera, but atleast I was still able to capture some of our memories...

Here are my two little chickens actually sharing (some popcorn chicken)!
Sam took right to the sand like a good little boy is supposed to.But he didn't stick around in this hole long enough to actually be buried. This one, on the other hand, hated the beach!
So, he decided to just go to sleep so he wouldn't have to deal with it.
Self-portrait ruined by stupid camera.

Paul and Sam took a short, and I mean VERY short, ride on this boat. That's a whole blog post by itself.:-)

We visited Garden City beach peir, which has an arcade. Paul and Sam played a few games. Paul played a game of ski ball and, based on his score, he should have gotten 9 tickets. Instead, the machine kept spitting them out until we had hundreds. We thought we'd be able to get something fabulous (well as fabulous as arcade prizes get), but alas, Sam ended up with two ring pops, 2 tootsie rolls, 3 fireballs, and a quite cute caterpillar that looked like this..
But within about 5 minutes the silly thing broke in half. Sam was pretty sad which made me sad. But I gave him one of his ring pops and he forgot all about it.

We caught a sunset on the beach.
We caught a sunrise on the beach.
We caught an eel. Eeeek!!
Natey still hated the beach.
Natey decided he LOVES the beach.
And then it was time to pack up and ride home.

What a fantastic weekend. Can't wait to go again.

We love Litchfield! Glad that Nate liked it by the time you were ready to leave - doesn't it always work like that?!
