One month older and more mobile too, Claire is moving right along. It is hard to note many major differences over the last month. She has just always seemed to be the same little person she is now, at 8 months old.
Claire loves books. She will sit and listen to several stories in a row, turning the pages of board books on command. She is a major threat to regular books, however, because she loves to crumple paper and eat it. In fact, Claire likes putting things in her mouth in general.
In early July, right around the 4th in fact, Claire started crawling. Now you can't stop her from going wherever her little heart desires. She often crawls on both knees, but will just as often keep her right leg straight and sort of push off with her right foot.
Her eating habits got a little bizarre over the last month. Also around the beginning of July, she started to refuse her bottles during the day. At each daytime feeding, she would drink about 2 ounces and refuse the rest. During the night, however, she would polish off 6-8 ounces 2-3 times before dawn. She has only been getting two meals with solids per day, so that shouldn't have been a factor. Finally, she is back to nearly normal with her drinking, but continues to wake 2-3 times for a bottle at night. I feel like a walking zombie. But her sweet little smile and temperament make it worth it, even in the middle of the night. I can't help but relish picking her sweet little body up out of the crib, regardless of the hour, when she is sitting so cutely, awaiting her rescue.

Over the 4th of July, Claire and her cousins were finally all reunited. Of course she's spent plenty of time with Tessa and some with Scarlett, but this is the first time Anne Quinn has been back and all 4 have been together since their photo-shoot in February. They were so thrilled to be together again. They could hardly contain their excitement.
