She's a Whopper

Today Claire had her 2 month check-up at the doctor's office. It was only slightly overdue; she is 2.5 months old today. Weighing in at a whopping 12 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 24 1/2 inches, Claire is in the 64th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height. So far, it looks like she's following in Nathanael's footsteps. She seems like such a big, mature girl already. She loves to smile and "talk" to us, particularly her brothers. She has only laughed out loud a few times, but keeps a smile on her face most of the time. She is the calm that this family needed.
It's so interesting to me that at only two and a half months old, she already has such a personality and preferences. When laying on her tummy, she generally prefers to turn her head to the right side. This also typically applies when she's resting her head on someone's shoulder or chest. She loves to watch her mobile and will usually smile as soon as she hears it being cranked up. She is so peaceful and easy to console. She is consistently eating 5 times a day, scheduled around a few catnaps and, typically, one long nap in the afternoon. A few weeks ago, she started indicating the ability to sleep through the night without feeding, so, since she wasn't doing it consistently, I decided to make that decision for her. So, although she still wakes up prior to dawn some nights, she no longer eats during the night. Most nights she doesn't wake at all, sleeping until around 5:30. The boys are still completely in love with Claire, wanting to hold her or be with her all the time, so almost all of the pictures of her are taken while she is being held by one of them. Once or twice, Paul or I have managed to find our way into a picture with her as well.

This past Sunday, Claire received her blessing at church from her daddy. She was a perfect angel, never uttering a peep. She was blessed to have a love for the scriptures, to study the life and teachings of the Savior, and that she will follow His example of obedience that, thereby, she may receive all the blessings Heavenly Father has for her.
